Welcome to the Grazerhütte

The Grazerhütte was built in 1928. The house is owned by the 'Alt-Herren-Verband' of the 'Akademischen Turnvereines'' student fraternity (ATV) in Graz.

The Grazerhütte has a long history at the Tauplitzalm. The famous mountaineer and Dalai Lama-friend Heinrich Harrer led the Grazerhütte between 1933-1934. Heinrich Harrer was also a member of the ATV Graz.

In winter we offer you an idyllic winter lifestyle and our guests step right of our front door onto cross-country trails and winter hiking paths. The Tauplitzalm is famous for its amount of snow and it's generally possible to ski on natural snow all the way back down to the valley until Easter. In summer the stunning 6 mountain lakes are surrounded by a diverse alpine flora and are easily accessible. The Tauplitzalm is ideal for those who suffer allergies.

Our cosy terrace in summer

In our cosy and original non-smoking ‘hut’ we serve our guests warm and cold regional dishes and 'Almspecialities'. You can enjoy a cold beer from the barrel, excellent wines and schnapps.

We have 52 beds, half of which in double or family rooms and the other half in dormitories of 12 and 14 beds. Furthermore we’re equipped with bathrooms for men and women, heating, a skiroom and a room for drying the shoes. Our infrared cabin ensures ultimate relaxation after a strenuous day.  We also offer free internet, books and games. For children there are toys, games and outside you will find our sand pit.

If you have further questions regarding the Grazerhütte, the Tauplitzalm or any other (touristic) information, please don't hesistate to contact us.

We look forward to welcoming you soon!
