Winter at the Grazerhütte


Thanks to ist geographically favorable location, the Tauplitz boasts some of the most reliable snow conditions in all of the Alps. Records document snow depths of up to 5 meter and even 3 - 5 meter in March or April. The Tauplitzalm area is a car-free in winter and offers you and idyllic winter lifestyle and an opportunity to stay right in the ski area.


Stepping out our front door you will find cross-country trails, winter hiking paths, ski mountaineering and snow shoe hiking paths the Tauplitzalm offers 43 kilometer of sunny ski slopes equipped with 18 lifts.


The winter hiking path is a magnificent loop path on the high plateau and cozy huts, including the Grazerhütte. There are two winter hiking paths with a total length of 7,5 kilometer.

Cross-country skiers can choose between the ´Lärchenwaldloipe´ and the ´Sturzhanhloipe´ and look over to the Grimming from the sunny plateau. The trails have a very good guarantee of snow and is the training centre for world and olympic champions.


Pristine powder snow slopes, rocks and peaks like Traweng, Rosskogel and Sturzhahn, there is nothing more attractive than a white wonderland amidst unspoilt nature. Ski mountaineers know that the Tauplitzalm have good opportunities for ski touring.  We are willing to help you finding a certified guide to explore the area. Ski schools and ski rental (also for cross-country or ski-mountaineering equipment) can also be found in the direct area of our hut.
